Devon Cattle on the Schaeffer Farm

Visitors may have noticed we enhanced the Alexander Schaeffer Farm with a small herd of heritage Devon cattle. Known for their high quality beef, Devon cattle are one of the oldest beef breeds in existence.

Their hardiness and grazing ability are ideal for grass-based beef production. We rotationally graze the Devon cattle on our certified organic farm. Cattle are provided with a new paddock daily, given fresh water, and offered the choice kelp and salt for their complete nutritional needs. They do not receive grain or growth hormones of any kind, making for superior, naturally-raised beef. We are proud to have this operation run by experienced herdsman Eric Fetter, resulting in a high-quality beef product.
